Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen Welcomes Three New Members

The Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen is growing. In addition to the exclusive Berlin millinery Salon Hüte & Accessoires, the initiative welcomes the traditional Riempp Rahmenmanufaktur as well as the well-known Hummel Manufaktur as new members. The Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen is thus expanding its already diverse spectrum of manufactories from all over Germany and is now more than ever representing the diversity of German manufacturers.

Each manufactory represented in the initiative stands for handmade products of the highest quality in all areas of the production and manufacturing. This also includes the new manufactory Salon Hüte & Accessoires by Susanne Gäbel. In complex work steps individual hats and hair decorations are created in loving and masterful manual work. In the small hat store in Berlin-Charlottenburg not only ladies will find what they are looking for, also men will find everything from sun hats to feodora.

Another new member of the initiative is the traditional Riempp Rahmenmanufaktur. Since 1896, the family business has been the world's oldest and last manufacturer of picture frames – manufacturing everything from raw wood to the finished frame. Artists, art collectors and interior designers love the extraordinary design and the high quality of the craftsmanship. The talented and creative team uses only selected and finest materials such as gold leaf, sterling silver and the finest colour pigments for the extraordinary frames.

The Hummel Manufaktur also attaches great importance to handwork. The manufactory is known for its loving Hummel figures, which show expressive children's drawings. Since 1935, experienced modellers and painters in Rödental (Bavaria) have been creating each of the figures in elaborate manual work. Some of the figures are worked up to 20,000 times by hand until they are considered as perfect and complete. Only through this procedure the special Hummel figurines can be created – the light-hearted expression of the Hummel children admired by enthusiasts and collectors.

With the new members, the Initiative Deutsche Manufakturen grows to a total of 23 members. Since its founding in 2010 with eight members, the initiative has almost tripled its membership.
